Hi all,
you should be warned before less considered use (=> occupation) of some
unique keys. I am not sure if such 'rare' key should be 'sacrificed' to
mode switching - there is quite few multimode contests, it is not sure
how many contesters decide to enter a multimde category and finally, ho
Hello Ervin,
Thank you. Hamlib seems to be installed in Synaptic, but rotator.h is
nowhere to be found and sothe code would not compile. I'm not sure what to

Hello Mike,
which packages are installed at your system?
There are several hamlib* packages, but there are two important,
which you need:
libhamlib-dev
libhamlib-utils
I think the libhamlib-dev contains the header files and
libraries, utils package contains rigctl and another binary
tools. Tha
Another proposal would be +F1 to toggle through the modes. That
would be compatible to other programms. We should include all modes to
toggle through for normal qso mode.
+B could grab the last call and the actual frequency. Allow the

Except that X desktop window managers grab the Ctl-Fx keys for desktop
switching.
Usually I miss it only when I am in normal QSO mode, in contest mode
changes happen not too often or I am in CW category. :-) Nevertheless a
hotkey is necessary, in my opinion.

Hello Thomas,
I think Fred's idea is a very good - the current switch is not
too very confortable.
But, I don't prefer the shortkey for this function, but it isn't
annoying.
Anyway, on hungarian keyboard that's a combination of two keys:
Alt-GR + 3.

Thanks to all of you for your feedback.
So let me try to summarize your answers:
- There seems to be no common feeling, that this functionality is
important,
- Martin suggested to look for the 'important' things first.
- German keyboard should not be the base for decisions (THat was why I
