A thought I just had, is I wonder if threading has anything to do with
this? While pgrep only returns one PID when Tlf is running, htop shows
two PIDs.
Oddly, I figured calling pkill via system() would as the same method is
used to kill rec from the sound recorder menu.

One thing that has vexed me for as long as I've used the Tlf voice keyer
is the inability to cancel a message once it is fired. Invariably I
