Just to mention that F12 works for me on pre2 (and pre1). I just
reconfirmed this is the case. It's the auto-CQ message. In fact I used
it a couple of weeks back as an unattended test message whilst I cured a
TVI problem.
However, I just tested whether the config variable 'NOAUTOCQ'
And again!
I remembered today also that when you arrow left when in the call field

marker means you don't know where you are. Again you have to count the
left arrow strokes to know.
