I had the same problem and there were some javascript errors from
Yes, it's definitely possibly your hardware breaks with the new kernel. I'm
using virtualbox so life is easier for me.
I would suggest running a yum update or compiling kernel 3.3rc6 next from
source and see if that helps.
kernel 3.3rc6 should be in the updates-testing repo soon either way.

Ruy,
I was able to upgrade using the DVD from f16 i386 -> f17 i386. I am able to
login to both Gnome, KDE and XFCE.
Can you give us some more details on the errors you are getting?

preupgrade is highly likely to be completely borked at present, to my
knowledge no attempt has been made to set up preupgrade to work for f17
Ruy,
Did you install using preupgrade or the DVD?
I used preupgrade and got a kernel panic.

Hi Ruy,
Are you using i386 or amd64 version of Fedora17?
How did you upgrade? Please provide us with the steps to reproduce the
problem.
I am about to do an upgrade on a Fedora 16 i386 host right now for testing
purposes and would appreciate this information.
Thanks,
Dan
