my settings correctly and I am still getting this problem when system is

Every time I reboot the system, I have to manually connect the Ethernet
connection. All settings are configured properly. Had it check by a
friend who is very computer savvy.

Is the Netowork Manager connection disabled? When you right click on it, is
the checkbox corresponding to "Enable Networking" unchecked and every time
you have to check it to enable the network? Does it connect after that?
