I've looked at the RPM spec file for mingw-crt in Fedora 41 and now
believe the build-time configuration is incorrect.
I've raised a bug report:

Using GNOME Shell on Wayland in Fedora 41 with Hicolor icons:
- GNOME Terminal displays the 'missing icon' icon instead of
'+' and '-'.
Using GNOME Shell Classic on Wayland in Fedora 41 with either
Hicolor or Adwaita icons:
- Icecat has the 'unknown app' icon in the Window List. (Actually,
I've tried using the mingw-w64 toolchain to build a Windows application
on Fedora 41. Following my usual practice I installed mingw64-gcc and
used the x86_64-w64-mingw32 toolchain to cross-compile.
I was disappointed to find that the resulting binary required UCRT. In
fact, apart from timestamps

I want to perform some additional configuration before letting users
log in to the desktop. The only way I've foun

Thanks for the hint. Downgrading dnf from 1.1.2-2 to 1.1.1-2 resulted

I installed the F23 beta last week when it first came out. There were
483MB of updates on 23rd September. I didn't use it again until today.
I was expecting another bumper load of updates, GNOME 3.18 in particular.
However, 'dnf update' and 'dnf --best update' both report there's nothing
to do.
I tried to install using the F18 Beta TC7 Live CD, but couldn't find
any way to specify that the bootloader should go onto the root
partition rather than the MBR. Is this possible? It used to be.
I see someone has already raised a bug report:

I don't plan to submit it. I'm not a Fedora contributor, just a grumpy
old user who doesn't know when to stop hacking on things he doesn't
understand. I have made an RP

I've written a few extensions to make the GNOME Shell user experience a
bit more like that of GNOME 2.
Move the clock towards the right of the panel;
Place launchers for favourite applications on the panel;
Replace the Activities button with an Applications menu;
