FWIW, on RHEL6 (unlike RHEL5) I had to add the following to dovecot.conf:
mail_location = mbox:~/mail:INBOX=/var/spool/mail/%u
I did not need to create anything

and then install via NFS (although in F14 something was broken so
that I had to unpack the DVD before mounting).
