In case you were not bitten by Schrödinger's Cat in Grub or got around her, you
might run in dracut/systemd problems in the initramfs.
You will have to update to at least
systemd-198-6.fc19 and dracut-026-48.git20130315.fc19
for a working initramfs.
# koji download-build --arch=$(arch) systemd-19

Added an automatic test in the dracut testsuite, so that this never happens
again.. Sorry for the inconvenience. Yes, rawhide sometimes eats babies.

Do not install dracut-020-51!
Sorry for those, who have been bitten by dracut-020-51. Instead of installing to
the /var/tmp/initramfs.* directory, it installed in your real root.
To remove most (if not all) of the files, it has installed, do the following:
# rm /.bash_history
# rm /dracut-state.
Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on
unknown-block(0,0)
this means there was no initramfs even loaded
check your bootloader config and the existence of the initramfs image

How exactly does the kernel panic look like? Normally, you are dropped to a
shell.
you can get more debug info, if you add "rd.debug rd.shell loglevel=

Hello Testers and rawhide Users,
Fedora 17 will locate the entire base operating system in /usr. The directories
/bin, /sbin, /lib, /lib64 will only be symlinks:
/bin → /usr/bin
/sbin → /usr/sbin
/lib → /usr/lib
/lib64 → /usr/lib64
Some reasoning behind this change is outlined here:
