Can't run X on my laptop anymore due to the IOPL error shown below. I've
also included lines from an strace of xinit that I did at this same time.
Anybody with any thoughts on how to get this fixed so I can run X again?

I just tried the tc5 using the netinst[1].
1. I only got to the software selection. It appears spice-gtk3 is broken
in F18? Anaconda wouldn't let me proceed.
2. I couldn't get the network time switch to work. It would stick to
OFF.
3. Is there a way to "reset" the software selection?
