I read your comments on the failed harddisk installation.
In my case after the Device/Resource busy screen I was dropped in the
repo screen aswell. But anaconda could not make a network connection, so
the complete installation failed.
I noticed, that in the repo screen there is no "Hardd

And with the Radeon HD 5450, a DX11 card with no fan.
Opensuse 11.3 installed without problem.
This is with an AMD 6000 cpu. Previous tests were
with core duo. Same black screen and no sync.

Downloaded the i686 DVD iso yesterday. Installed it onto a multiboot
machine. Custom partitioning. Root on LVM. Boot on primary partition.
