Oh, and the next surprise. After a boot with 'init=/sbin/upstart'
a simple "reboot" powered the whole machine down while it should
not. OTOH after 'shutdown -h now'

The latest rawhide updates switched a default init from upstart to

those changes ended up with:

I've been asked by FESCo to post this public service announcement :)
We'd just like to remind those who test Fedora, in whatever
way...running a stable release with updates-testing, running Rawhide,
being a proven tester (especially)...that it's best if you test with
SELinux enabled and enforcing.

Greetings folks,
Just wanted to summarize how testing held up for the third (and final)
pre-alpha rawhide acceptance test run of Fedora 14 (see task#8 [1]).
Thanks to anaconda-devel and release engineering, install images were
available a day later than scheduled on Jul 23 (see rel-eng
ticket#3873
It appears that the general tone of this page is to encourage users to
report bugs upstream /instead/ of reporting them to Fedora. I think this
approach is ill-advised.
While there are certainly advantages to getting bugs reported upstream,
there are also many advantages to having such bugs re
In theory, changing the keyboard shouldn't break anything
since the scan codes are the same; what is actually written on the keys doesn't
matter. However, we all know about the difference between theory and reality.
As for the test day, I concur. I myself am willing to test the German and

Greetings Testers,
I'm happy to announce that validation test event against F-14 Alpha Test
Compose is coming! Similar with F-13, this time we planned testing of
both Installation Process[1] and Desktop functionality[2] to ensure that
they meet the F-14 Alpha Release Criteria[3].
Welcome everyone
