I'm a little new to the whole concept of linux etc. and I was wondering if
it's always this overwhelming when trying to learn more about it through
online communities? I'd post this question on the grrltalk mailing list,
but I can't handle all of the emails from both that mailing list and this
ok, i've been a part of this list for almost two months now and i've finally
got a computer, not only that, but it has linux on it... and nothing else...
the difficult thing is trying to learn how to use it w/ out a mouse... but
that's another story...
anyway, for the reason i'm finally piping
hings that i
can't do w/ it...*g*

cuz the only mouse i have at the moment, the computer won't recognise and
the guy i'm borrowing the computer from hasn't had the time to get to my
place to set another one up yet...
that and it's better for me to learn how to get around on linux w/ out
becoming dependant on a mouse =)
I was just wondering if anyone out there knows how to enter init strings on
red hat 6.x... I've just started learning about them at work and would like
to see if I can speed up my modem a little.
thx

Well, I don't know much about what I'm doing to be absolutely truthful
(everything was quickly set up for me) but if it helps, when i connect i
type in the command 'ifup ppp#'.
thank you for replying,
