Hi Conor,
I shall try this and let you know of the results! Thanks!

Hi Again,
I tried your suggestions, but have not had any success. I generated the
keys on each system, and collected them into one file, and then put that as
/etc/ssh_known_hosts on all systems. Then I modified the
/etc/ssh/sshd_config to allow for the sshd to use the file, and I still can

The Intel 810 is not supported in XFree86 prior to 3.3.6, according to

I have one here, and it's pretty lousy with 3.3.6 anyway. It's nicer with

Hi all,
I recently replaced the hard drive on my intranet webserver. The old
one had Redhat 7.0 installed, running apache-1.3.12-25. My intranet
site has a mysql database with a php frontend. The packages I used were
mod_php-3.0.12-1, mod_php-mysql-3.0.12-1, mysql-server-3.23.22.6, and

Hello all!
I have a pile of .sql scripts written to drop and then create tables in
oracle. I have to convert them to mysql. I'm finding that the syntax is
just different enough that I keep hitting snags. I have the greatest book

Can anyone recommend a good web interface for server
administration, like adding and removing users,
managing e-mail, etc. This would be only for admin
consumption, not for the general user. The platform
is RH7.1, running Apache and sendmail. Any help
would be greatly appreciated!

Blackbox use to be my window manager of choice for quite a while, but I

which is Blackbox. So now fvwm2 is my manager of choice. Blackbox is great
because it's clean and small in size.

I started with RH and moved to SuSE because RH 7.0 had a really
bad compiler, cost the earth, and didn't come with as many go
Last time I tried, this was not fun.
I would suggest trying X 4.0.x rather than 3.3.x. MUCH easier. (Believe
me, I've been there)

Greets,
I got my new server home last night (dual 933MHz P3s) and went
to install Linux only to discover the RedHat 6.1 I have is Just Too

Hi Julie,
You may want to try installing RH 6.1 with a 20 Meg /boot partition at the
head of the drive before the 1023 cyl limit. This may help with the install.
As for more recent editions of RH try www.redhat.com and look for the
download tab. It is a busy site and you may be forced to go
Youre probably going to have this problem across the board.
When setting up your partitions, you best set up /boot - at about 15 megs -
as an individual partition to the rest of your system.
That'll solve the problem.
With a disk that large, if its dedicated to linux, you could almost have 2G

For ISO images check www.linuxiso.org. There aren't seperate images...they
just install the correct kernel during setup.

Thanks. I was wondering how that worked. I managed to try some

Hi,
Ys Webmin seems to be the choice. I have it running

I'm defragging now, and using the laptop for web connection.
I have the burned SuSE cd.. I know it works because my neighbor just
installed from it ;)
I'm going to use the built in partitioner. I'm giving Linux 3gb with a 300mb
swap. (Then i'll still have over 6 free.)
I'm going to use the Boot

Well, I got it installed. I'm thinking i'll have to do it again though,
since it's saying that I have a Live Eval, and some things don't look like
they're there. I have no idea. I wasn't able to get the sound going, since
