Hi Al l,
I have a question with regards to od. In Solaris, the command "od -c ."
will give ascii representation to the file names that are held by the
directory. In RH6.1 this same command does not work the same way. I have
to use the following "od -c *" which after reading the man page, gi
Hey---
I need to purchase a modem, preferably 56K. I don't need anything fancy,
just something that will work on Win and Linux. I was very suprised in
shopping at the local computer superstores that externals started at about
$150 US dollars, which is a definitely more than I am able to spend.

I bought a 3com/US Robotics external for about $100 from Buy.com. It was
a little more than I wanted to spend too, but it works great and I'm glad
I got it.

Hello,
Was wondering if anyone ran across this type of thing before and could give advice?
I made a NIS domain on our lan behind the firewall. I have ypserv running and ypbind

The USR modems are well worth the extra cost for the peace of mind you get
from them. A tip h
Well, I personally own 3Com (USRobotics) Courier, which costs about
$170, and I
find it the best possible modem available for under $200. It has a flash
memory
and our Russian hackers (not to mix with crackers!) do their own flash
upgrades
for that modems which adds even more features and controls

I think something must have *seriously* roached the listservs...they used to do
that automagically. Either that dweeb who flamed Deb so badly hacked the

Hey, could we all start putting the [grrltalk] and [techtalk] tags back in
the subject line of each e-mail? I am stuck with micro$oft products at work
and have to rely on Outlook's ability to sort linuxchix e-mails into their
own folder by subject line :)
Thanks

You can use the 'To:' field to properly sort Linuxchix email according
to topic. Although I'm using Outlook Express 5.0 on my Windows
partition, this should work in 4.0 also.
