Last time I tried, this was not fun.
I would suggest trying X 4.0.x rather than 3.3.x. MUCH easier. (Believe
me, I've been there)

The Intel 810 is not supported in XFree86 prior to 3.3.6, according to
Intel.
I have one here, and it's pretty lousy with 3.3.6 anyway. It's nicer with
a 4 series
