Well, I personally own 3Com (USRobotics) Courier, which costs about
$170, and I
find it the best possible modem available for under $200. It has a flash
memory
and our Russian hackers (not to mix with crackers!) do their own flash
upgrades
for that modems which adds even more features and controls

shopping at the local computer superstores that externals started at about
$150 US dollars, which is a definitely more than I am able to spend.
