a lot of people I work with have debian, redhat, and
freebsd running on their dell inspirons. I have a
toshiba satellite, and the only distro that seems to work here is redhat 7. (debian
worked with several
hours of tweaking by a local linux guru.) be aware
when you buy a laptop to look at the
agreed. stormix was actually the first successful install of a linux system I had.
it went very smoothly, and it seems to readily install on more systems than some of
the other distros I've found. (we're talking prior to massive configuration on those
other installs).

hey, all. I was helping my girlfriend try to install kxicq on her caldera 2.4 system
last night. it ended up being a bit of an annoying install, but the biggest problem
we had was that it gave an error that Qt >={something} (I don't remember what the
version number was) was not installed.
