[techtalk] printer parallel or serial? Can't install.

When I run PrintTool to set up a local printer, I get the error message that auto-detection can't detect and of /dev/lp*. I don't know if I can disregard it, as one can if setting up a serial printer, since I don't know if whether or not I'm doing this. Thanks, Kathy _

[techtalk] modem problems

Hi, I'm having trouble getting an internal modem to work. It's on ttyS1 and when I connect to it with minicom, it sits there for half a minute or so, then echoes the init string back in bursts of maybe 16 chars (it looks like about 16 but I didn't count to be exact). I can type commands like ATD
