Connecting a CD-rom cable to the CD-rom without shutting the machine down
first. I honestly thought I had, until I saw blue spa
give me more than a day on the mailing list before i share my most humiliating
moments...

Ooooh. I didn't know that there was an error file there...I got a great hint,
and it worked out splendidly. Do I have to tell what and give away my

I love my 3com ISA modem cards. Just configure the com settings correctly and
add a /dev/modem symlink if necessary and you should be good to go.

I remember having a modem discussion a few years ago (95?) before I ever
bought my first computer, and I was told that Hayes was the way to go...I am
not sure if this information is still current/relevant.
Hayes has (since almost a year ago) been liquidated for debts. The pieces

I personally have an internal, because the last thing I need is to have
another external device attached to my computer!

Or, if you don't use redhat
Hi all--
My question first, and then some extraneous stuff..
I'm running kmail 1.0.20 and one day (a coupla months ago) I noticed this
problem...it suddenly started not sending mail. It *looks* like the mail
is being sent..copy going into setmail directory, etc. but it really
never goes anywh
Just to make sure.. you do have the line
'CS->' 'ppp'
after the username / password info in your chat-ppp0 script correct?

I missed the first thread of this problem so I apologize if I repeat something
already covered.
You may want to try turning the debuging output on for the dial up process by
editing
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-ppp0 and changing the line: 'DEBUG=' to
'DEBUG=yes'
