provide APIs for managing domains and/or DNS records? It's kind of a
pain managing large numbers of domains via klunky web interfaces. It
sure would be nice to tie registry accounts into equipment inventory

OpenSRS does what you want: http://opensrs.com.
At a previous employer, we built domain registration directly into our
billing system through their APIs.

And it looks like Network Solutions does as well (called, interestingly,
SRS).
Can't seem to find an equivalent on GoDaddy.
Anybody integrated any of these APIs

If you are looking for an appliance like solution, Infoblox rocks.
Hosted, take a look at dnsimple and route 53. Those should also help you find
others.

My preferred domain registrar (namecheap.com) offers a really nice API. They
also have some of the best support I have dealt with in the field.
