On the c5 you should be ok as far as the graphics for Skype. I've not tested it
with newer phones like the 700, 701, e6 etc... So have no idea if the graphics
will work or not.

Yes you need to get the Talks script
It isn't a script! It is a graphic dictionary file for phones that use English.
It defines some of the graphics for Skype. It is on the blind sea web site

See if you have accidentally changed the "Echo Function keys" option under
the Advance Tabsheet of Talks and Zooms. It should be set to yes if you want
Talks to announce the Function keys including the Talks key.

Yes you need to get the Talks scripts and can do so by downloading Skype from
blindsea website and following the instructions for putting the scripts in
Talks.
