I am not clear here what you are saying. Is the error Talks or Eloquence? Is
Nokia TTS OK? You say old N80 but then you talk of taking phone back to a shop.

Thanks for the technique! I was able to remove the door and install one of
my new batteries. It's charging, and I'm hoping for the best. Buying
batteries for an N82 is a chancy business.
