[Tagging] how to tag a terrace?

I wonder how we should tag a terrace? For a terraced house there is the current practise of tagging it in the abbreviated form of building=terrace, but doesn't that create a problem for tagging terraces? I am for instance refering to something like this: http://wallpaperscraft.com/download/italy_r

I think there should be a big "building=yes" polygon over the terrace and the mansion attached to it (or building=mansion or whatever). Then put a polygon over just the terrace, and tag it building:part=terrace. There are 21 of them in the database right now: http://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/tags/
