Of course, a public park may also contain ornamental plantings, themed or otherwise: the area with the plantings may have its own name, or may not. There is a formal garden in one section of Centennial Park, in Nashville, TN, USA, known as the Sunken Garden (it is in a former lakebed). -- Jo
