It's not exactly what you are looking for, but I'm working on a script
to render mapkeys (legend) images from a stylesheet. It creates a
database with node/way/area associated with the tags found in the
spreadsheet, then renders it with nik2img.

Do you have a link to the google spreadsheet? Do you plan to make it
viewable to public (as in a webpage)? What about editor privileges?
