Thanks for your comments, Steve and Martin. I contacted the current
maintainer of CEDICT (he has taken over the project in 2000 after the
old author disappeared -- probably the guy you contacted, Steve). His
comment was "This sounds like the kind of project CEDICT was created
for." So no copyright
