I'm not going to say that is encoded correctly, because it's obviously not.
However, comparing with my paper ESV, it is worth noting that they are two
separate footnotes that are separated by a comma (e.g. y, z).

text is output using diatheke to RTF format, the space present in the module

"*x_" are Xiphos' xrefs. The comma separating these two is not properly
encoded as being part of the xref itself; if one turns off xrefs, the
comma remains, creating a very odd, very wrong bit of punctuation.
