The 1.8.1 version is now released and this question (about the new
versification) is not yet solved. Please make a decision rather than
letting the matter drag on indefinitely.
Maybe the good way is to just add the new Catholic3_lit.h (compromise
between catholic and catholic2)?

The SWORD engine will accept verse references with a single letter
suffix,e.g., Esther 5:1b. The engine does nothing more than to resolve
this to Esther 5:1. So, while not perfect, a Bible can include 1a, 1b,
