If anyone is interested, I just made a custom writer for pandoc to aid in
the creation of genbooks. The output will need to be edited to add chapter
divisions and fix header information. But otherwise, it works pretty well.

A special utility isn't needed. This is a bug in the usfm to osis converter
being used.
If this happens with the output of u2o.py please submit a bug report so i
can fix my converter.

u2o.py handles both \ca and \va tags in the manner in which the
osis.2.1.1 manual says they should be handled when converting them to

usfm2osis.py appears to be very broken now. I ran it on a number of bibles
and it failed to properly convert all of them. For the World English Bible
it reported the following:
Unhandled USFM tags: \+bk, \c, \li1

I see translations up there which are outdated and which the copyright

I got bored yesterday (and today) so I decided to write a script for the
AutoKey 0.6x utility to do this. It works with OpenOffice, plain text
editors, or any other program where you might need to paste scripture
passages. It requires diatheke in order to function.
You can get it from my website
If I were going to write something to insert bible text into a program
in linux I'd probably just write a python macro for use with the AutoKey
(http://autokey.sourceforge.net/) utility so that the text could be
inserted into whatever program a person happened to be using rather than
just a specifi
The last time I checked, E-Sword used the microsoft jet database
engine for its modules. Any database programs that can work with these
types of databases should be able to be used to work with the e-sword
modules. (Such as the MS Access database program.)

Just curious to see if there will be an OFFICIAL update to the WEB and
HNV modules this year.
Also, how's that gbf to osis converter coming along that was mentioned
last year? Is it still being worked on?

I didn't get a response to my previous inquring about the progress on
this gbf to osis converter, so I'll ask again...
How's the progress coming along on this GBF to OSIS converter? How
long will it be before official updates will be made to the modules
which currently use gbf markup (more specifi
Just thought I'd ask how the progress is coming along with this GBF to
OSIS converter. And to inquire about how much longer it might be until
we see new modules that were generated using this converter.
(specifically the WEB and HNV modules.)

Well, its been a week since i first emailed this and I still haven't
gotten a response. So I'll ask again.
Last year, around June I think, I offered to provide updated WEB and

i seem to recall an announcement a while back about
the availability of a new beta version of the EMTV.
However, upon checking the links to download it, I
noticed it was not really there. just an empty file.
might wanna fix that or at least remove the links if
its not available for testing.
I know of 2 public domain "MKJV" or "KJ21" type bible
translations available. There is the UKJV which is
located at http://www.geocities.com/updatedkjv/ and
there is the AKJV which has been available for the
Sword Project for quite some time already. (UKJV
stands for Update King James Version, AK

I just now noticed a rather peculiar problem with the
WEB...
I was attempting to make a new WEB since the one that
currently is available for the Sword Project is a bit
outdated, and noticed that BibleTime locked up when I
tried looking at Revelation 22.
For a while I thought maybe it was because
