Greetings,
I've created a Python binding for libsword via SIP[1]. The code is here:
http://github.com/natural/sword-sip
The binding is mostly complete, certainly the larger classes and
methods. I'd like it if folks who use the SWIG bindings could also
try to build this binding with SIP and
Troy,
Welcome to the list.

Greetings,
I'd like to volunteer to help with the SWORD project. I can write
technical documentation. I can write (a little) C++ code, and (very
much) Python code.
I've created libsword bindings for Python with SIP, and I'll send
another message to the list with details. In creating the bindin

Using emptyvss I've got a missing verse at Sirach 23:28, and I'm not sure
what to do about it. There is no text there in the original, and this verse
is omitted from the USFM or OSIS. Does this cause a problem? If so, should
I simply insert a verse of that reference with no content?
thanks

Barry,
This not so obvious requirement has caused others to stumble for a while in
the past.
This very fact suggests that the instructions in the CrossWire web-site need
to be expanded in order to clarify the way in which the various utilities
that process a module must be written in the command
Barry,
It's working now.
Many thanks

The utility needs to be in your 'sword' directory. (The one containing
mods.d and modules). The module title is case sensitive, and needs to

You can use the utility emptyvss to find verses in a module that contain no
text, since this may indicate errors in the module. Just run:
emptyvss
on an installed module to generate a list.
However, I've

I've put text into a conf file, but it does not display diacritics properly

Hi Nic.
How did you measure indexing? Best is to look in the log file. For indexing
there should be lines like this:
Wed Nov 4 07:46:43 2009 DEBUG [MacSword] [SwordSearching
-createIndexAndReportTo:] start indexing...
Wed Nov 4 07:46:52 2009 DEBUG [MacSword] [SwordSearching
