Are there any news on bug tracker front?
I did a scarab installation here at home on my server pc (Phenom quad
core). Even on this machine scarab was terribly slow. Pages - even
after called multiple times (JIT compiler) - took a couple of seconds
until rendered.

No - it disappeared in the first session after removing KJVgb. In all
subsequent sessions the problem has reappeared.
I will therefore try removing other Gen Book Bible modules.
