Good day,
When setting up modules, I usually use two modules. One is my generic
plain text module where I put the nt and ot files from vpl2mod. After
checking, that it looks okay, I use mod2zmod to create the final (or
incremental) module for use and distribution. This way, I have two

I'll have to leave the answer to Troy to answer. I don't know the
original reason. My guess would be that it was influenced by C where
a byte with a 0 value is a string terminator. Rather than storing a
length byte the data starts at the expected location and stops when 0

I notice that for genbook, we have the following code to read dat file:
byte[] buffer = SwordUtil.readRAF(datRaf, offset, 12);
node.setParent(SwordUtil.decodeLittleEndian32(buffer, 0));
node.setNextSibling(SwordUtil.decodeLittleEndian32(buffer, 4));

I have been lurking on this list for about a week now. I was overjoyed to find
this software and effort available in the open source arena. I have a keen
interest in sermons and bible school materials. I am in the process of writing
materials and endeavoring to make the materials available

Generally speaking, the command line tools need to use the module name
given in [Brackets] in .conf, which (from your initial example) would
have been MyBible.
After mod2zmod gives you a working result, you
I keep getting
error: mod2zmod: couldn't find module: barry
all files chmod 666
I created a barry.vpl verse per line
ran vpl2mod it created nt , nt.vss , ot and ot.vss
I try to run mod2zmod to create the .bzs , .bzv and .bzz files and error
What is the proper process to use mod2zmod?
Duuh
It was a file permission problem
1st I found and ran osis2mod which created .bzs .bzv .bzz files
ot and nt same problem
But When I changed permissions from -rw--- to -rw-rw-rw- all works
fine I see the OSIS text
Thanks all

Hi Eeli
OK Gnomesword2 does the same thing. It lists my translation and the
scriptures are blank. I'm NOT sure which files it is using though?
.idx.dat nt nt.vss .vpl .xml .gbf ???
BibleDesktopdoes not list my translation at all thus no way to check
the text. Any Ideas ?
Thanks again
Thank Eeli
My distro only has gnomesword and not bibledesktop, But I'll get it and
let you all know what I find, great concept Thanks
