OK guys,
I'm trying to get around to fixing all these lexicon issues. I have
added a simple lextest unit test file in sword/tests, and have attached
the file as well. If you guys could give me something like this that I
can just compile and bring up in a debugger that demonstrates you
Hi Troy,
Yeah, I still am having problems. I can enter about twenty entries and then
when I try to save the next one, it won't save it again until I reinstall
the module from a previously working copy. Installing from scratch works
sometimes but not always. It appears that the module is in some g
Clyde Price,
Thank you so much for these resources. I'm hoping to personally work on
some new modules after this release is out. It'll be a nice break for
code for a while. Looks like you have some good stuff!
Thanks again!

Jeff,
ICU is for internationization. If you would like to build sword with
this extra support, leave _ICU_ defined (and acutally, you'll probably
need to define _ICUSWORD_ now as well. Then check out the icu-sword
module from cvs. Otherwise, you can remove the define.

Hi,
I got wincvs installed and managed to check out the sword project. How do I
build it? I found a workspace called ActiveDiatheke.dsw, it does not build
though, missing a header file. Is this the sword .dsw?

I just checked out and got the following:

It works for me with the official ICU 2.1.
With current CVS it works even in BibleTime now!
It's pretty cool!

Hi,
I have a similar problem, "Cannot open include file: 'unicode/unistr.h': no
such file or directory.
I see in utilstr.cpp
#ifdef _ICU_
#include
#include
#endif
I am not sure hwat _ICU_ is, maybe if it not defined it might compile.

Ephrem,
Yes, most things are developed on linux first. If you check out the
sword module from our cvs repository, you find our latest tools under
sword/utilities. This directory also exists in our standard 1.5.3
source code release, but the tools in cvs are much better to use. We're
I am wanting to put together some modules for SWORD but am only finding win tools to
do so. Has someone put together some *nix scripts/programs for processing files into
modules? While I'm beginning to learn Perl I really am not at a point where I can
create my own scripts for this.
Thanks,

Could I get confirmation for anyone that had previously reported not

Ephrem,
Well, you have 2 options for non-KJV versification.
1) make the module in its own versification scheme, and where there isn't
a 'KJV slot' for an entry, concatenate these entries into the last valid
KJV entry. This is what our utilities attempt to do with any entries

Thanks for your help re Linux tools.
A second question: I have approached the copyright holder of the Psalter According to
the Seventy about releasing the text for electronic useage. This is an English

Troy,
I am not someone who had reported the problem, but I had not been able to
save the personal commentary, but I just checked in the BetaP version and it
works.

This is rather non-urgent... I just thought I submit it before I
forget.
* In a bigger module (like CEDICT), entries consisting of a number
(e.g. "8") will cause Sword not to be able to browse correctly
through the entries. For example, in a subset of the module I had
the entries "8", "80"
