Just a warning. I read an article that said not to respond to
unsolicited e-mail like the one below that just came across
sword-support. The idea is they just send out a bazzillion e-mails to all
possible addresses they can come up with. Anyone that replies lets them
know that they are a live

And a hot bumper tune on start up. :-) Hey, who said
haven't posted here before, but here's another vote for OpenSword.

When you mentioned rock band names, I thought of the band Petra, the hebrew
(Or greek?) for Peter...
Why don't we use a hebrew or Greek word that signifies what the project is,
what we could sum it up as in one word?

Joachim,
We had a discussion about this in bt-devel and we decided that this was

First, I have to admit that Olympic is not a fair example. There are
provisions in the law just for the Olympics.

Another plus for "OpenSword" is that I just ran a search for it on google
and came up empty. To me, that means there is a good chance no one has ever
used the name before. And once the name is in the meta data of the web site,
it will be easier for people to find.

OK So OpenBible is out. :(
The runners up appear to be:
OpenSword
WinSword
Bereans
Berean Sword
I may have missed one or two but I tried to pick the ones that have been
suggested and then commented on by others. At this point I vote OpenSword.
Anyothers?

Funny. Then again, his software was not put out by "The Sword Project."

Zero. "The Open Bible" was trademarked in 1985.

It doesn't have to be the "same as" to be a problem. I suggest staying away
from OpenBible. Names and products a lot less similar than this have been
found to be violations

Troy,
I have a problem with the two functions VerseKey::Chapter(int ichapter) and
VerseKey::Book(char ibook).
I was looking for the reason of a bug in BibleTime (misteriously the verse
and chapter was set to 1 after I changed the book with VerseKey::Book).
The two functions above turned out to

Open
OpenSword is good, especially since it's already known among users as Sword
or The Sword so it's not a completely different name... Just have to
change all references, documentation, window titles, etc, consistently to
OpenSword...
