Worked fine with Safari and Mac OSX. I tried using jack. It immediately showed the 6 channel web process in the routing window! Also without jack it directly played back. Could you give some background on the HTML5 implementation or on how you realized this? Regards Fabio Am 27.11.2011 um 0

[Sursound] Uniformity of hemispherical LS layout

2012-10-09 Thread Fabio Kaiser
Hi, I want to design a 3D-Audio loudspeaker system on a hemisphere compatible with Ambisonics playback. The system should have a horizontal ring of speakers but there is no restriction in number of Loudspeakers (so far!) and the elevated positions. So my concern is with finding a uniform dist

Google for dodecahedron loudspeakers. There you'll find some results. These kind of loudspeakers are used in room acoustic measurements. To goal is to excite the room without directional preference. But mostly the single speaker chassis cannot be driven independently. Nils already mentioned th

Isn't what you did simple stereo recording and playback? Or, more general, amplitude and time delay panning!? The drawback here is the mismatch of spatial selective recording and playback. What enter the mic from one direction leaves the loudspeaker in all directions (assuming omni characteristic).

You can check evenness oft he sampling of the sphere by checking the condition number of the spherical harmonics matrix. So create the SH matrix with some educated guess layout, define the corresponding SH order and see what happened to cond(Y). From there you can start designing. If there are
