To start answering my own question - I've got a method going now where I route
the output channels of the VVMic-enabled track to Jack, and then record the
output in Logic. This seems baroque, but at least it seems to work.

I'm a newcomer to David McGriffy's VVMic software - I'm using the Reaper
template that he puts on his site, but can't quite figure out how to get an
8-channel decoding happening. If anyone has any tips, I'd appreciate it!

sorry, i misread michael's request - this issue had been solved already.
for the record, michael sorted it out by recompiling with the
"--enable-float" option.
