to forward SIP ... take a look at the dispatcher module.
This module can do stateless forwarding if you want to loadbalance to different
register/sip server.
Like Daniel Ciprus, I advice the online cookbooks too.
The real books are outdated to fast.;-)

The only advice I'd give you is cookbooks .. they're brilliant source of
information. Take configuration from samples, tweak them and get some use case
working with help from RFC3261. This is the best way to learn. Personally I'm
not aware about any quick newbie howto documentation.
