This appears to be bug 4227.
Please upgrade to the 3.5.6 snapshot to avoid it (or 3.5.7 will be out
in a few days).

I'm using negotiate authentication (kerberos).
Auth settings:
auth_param negotiate program /usr/lib/squid/negotiate_kerberos_auth
auth_param negotiate children 80 startup=5 id
