try SpamAssassin 2.61, it could be that there's a very large bayes
db there that's being expired -- in versions before 2.61, this

We are suffering from run-away spamd processes, growing to large
memory usage and in effect killing all mail delivery. This last
happened Sunday pm and until someone gets to the office we are still
without mail. Looking through the archives I found a message fro

Suse Linux 7.2 with 2.4.20 Kernel.
After a while everythings running fine, there are some spamd
procs left that leak memory. All spamd procs start with a memory usage of about
