In my opinion you need to upgrade your Slurm 14.03 to a modern version,
the
>= slurmctld >= slurmd >= commands
So your CentOS 7.8 compute node running slurmd must not have a Slurm
version newer than that of the slurmctld and slurmdbd nodes.
