I've been lurking for awhile, and I'm a clueless Linux newbie.
I installed 7.1 back in January, and have been mostly OK with
it despite my cluelessness.
I have this scanner that I used back when I was on Windows,
but I can't find any drivers/software/whatever to make it work
on my Linux b
I agree with Gary. Don't change unless you have tested everything you
want to do with it on a spare box, and you absolutly need the newer
feature. 7.x are achieved releases, that are stable now (bugs and
securuty lacks have been fixed)
If you need a newer version of a component (ie kernel, KDE,
