Well, Mailman's authentication model is very weak, that's the problem.
The FSF sysadmins have been working on something better for spam. This
may mitigate the problem - when it's done.

Since the last internet worm there is again a bunch of spam emails
sent to the groff list (and archived consequently) where only the
contents are removed but not the emails them

It is quite embarrassing for subscribed members that infected
