Good idea. I have added davidam to the test-project group. David, Please
check out that project, make a simple change to testfile1, commit it, push it,
and see if that works for you. I just tested that it is working there for me.

Setup a test bzr repository. Do a push with a test user
that should be just like davidam. Give davidam access. Have
him do a push. Look for differences.

This is a strange problem. Because everything looks okay. I don't
see why this would be creating this issue.
One odd thing is that you used bzr but the error message says brz?
I'll just assume some twiddle typo happened in pasting it.
