The inf file that I found on my installation cd (HP scanner) says that it
is tulip enabled.
What exactly is tulip?

Mike is also working on the scanner driver. I am working on the version for
scanjet 2400c, which seems to use the same driver as scanjet 3670 c. Maybe
we could co-ordinate.

HP 3670 and HP 2400 seem similar except for HP 3670 having an additional

1) genesys.conf defines the vendor id and , (usb address ?)
2) genesys_low.c is the low level implementation for the scanner with
genesys_low.c being the header file for it
3) genesys.c is the high level implementation for the scanne

NO. sane-find-scanner might be able to tell whether this scanner is based
on a
gl646. There is no backend for that scanner.

I looked at Henning's page. I was looking at Genesys backend as reference
for understanding on how to write backend.
Which of the usb backends on that page would serve as a good example to
write a backend? I read the status, but I am confused.
I guess I need to set cvs up on my home machine
