Hello.
the sane-backend package does not support any options to disable any backends.
We decided to do so because it would make more problems than it solves.
When you want to disable any backends then edit /usr/local/etc/sane.d/dll.conf
and comment out all backends that you don`t want to be start
Good day.
Is there are any idealogical causes to build _all_ backends? May be it's
better to allow user at configuation stage select required ones? Something
like 'menuconfig' for linux kernel. Or just as --enables-xxx-backend
options for 'configure'. Or something wrong with it?

This should work. Either edit Makefile.in
With the latest sane-1.0.8, how do I configure it only to compile and
install the backends that I want, instead of all (default) ?
I tried configure --without-v4l for example (because I have a DVB card
which also uses v4l for it's TV display and sane annoyingly looks for
v4l and loads the module
