Hi, i'm a gentoo user and i have HP C4183 multifunctional device.
First, xsane didn't see scanner. But then i put "0x03f0 0x5711" into
/etc/hotplug/usb/libsane.usermap and /etc/sane.d/hp.conf
Now, when i run `sane-find-scanner -q` as root it shows
found USB scanner (vendor=0x03f0 [HP], product=0x57
There is no reason to assume that the sane-hp backend supports your
machine. In fact, it is probably not supported by sane-backends
directly. Try installing hplip instead.
