Hi!
Ok, I have now edited the modprobe.conf (/etc/modprobe.conf):

alias snd-card-0 snd-intel8x0
options snd-card-0 index=0
options parport_pc irq=7 dma=3 io=0x378
install snd-intel8x0 /sbin/modprobe --ignore-install snd-intel8x0 &&
/usr/sbin/alsactl restore >/dev/null 2>&1 || :

I use Fedora 3, and this system is new for me, so I am having problems

I get this in commandmode:
[root] # updatedb
[root] # locate modules.conf
/etc
Hi,

in /etc/modules.conf
options parport_pc irq=7 dma=3 io=0x378
it should then detect the port correctly. Let's see whether that helps :)
kind regards

parport0: irq 7 detected

Hi !
I have major problems installing my scanner with sane.
I have downloaded the latest tarball "sane-backends-1.0.15.tar.gz" at
ftp://ftp.sane-project.org/pub/sane/sane-backends-1.0.15/,
decompressed the tarball (tar -xvzf sane-backends-1.0.15.tar.gz) and I
compiled and installed (./configure
