Hello
First, sorry for my bad english, but I will try it anyway.
I send you this mail because I need some help. Maybe would you explain me how
to proceed.
I would like to run a HP scanner "Scanjet 5300c » on a iMac os x 10.10 , so as
this one doesn’t see it, I searched for a solution. Founding SA
Hi Erik,
thanks for your fast response. I will try this. Ineed, the scanner is
quite old and looks quite dusty.
I found out some more details. it seems to be connected to the
resolution. using 100 dpi it works, 150 fails at about 12.5%:

different scanner) it fails.

Hi,
I had a similar problem with my HP Scanjet 6300. Although I fiddled
with the timeout in the libsane code, I found that the real problem was
dust! Although the glass was clean, the internal mirrors were covered
in a thick layer of dust and the scanner was having trouble
self-calibrating. Cle
I already opened a bug report about this, but maybe somebody here can
help me, too.
My HP Scanjat 5300c is not usable cause scanimage (as well as other
frontends like xscanimage) constantly crashes with I/O error during scan.
The Scanner is recognized on USB and by scanimage, see the lising bel

Hi.
The code "should" be in 1.0.10. When I have a version which is quite
tested by my list of known to use the avision backend beta-testers, I
do a CVS commit. The Avision backend in 1.0.10 is very recent and
_should_ work with any Avision based scanner, except the 5730 and the
Minota film-scanner
Is the current code already in SANE 1.0.10 or do I need to update so
that we can support the HP Scanjet 5300c with our next Mandrake release?

Could you:
a) make sure you have the last SANE/Avision release (for URL see below)=
b) update to kernel 2.4.20 ?
The avision.conf should be plain vanilla - untouched. All enable* or
disable* options should NOT be present, or commented out. THEY ARE
