Hello everybody,
i found this drivers http://www.elcot.in/linuxdrivers_download.php for the
HP ScanJet 2400. I tested them under ubuntu 8.10 and they work very well !
Can you add them to the Sane project? this scanner model is very popular
(try to search in ubuntu forum!).
Regards

apparently this thing is under some sort of HP license, and it does
not contain any source code. It cannot be included in sane. There has
been some (slow) motion toward a free backend on this list.

Well, write a SANE driver :-)
Or at least find out, who produced the scan chip. Ask the manufacturer
for programming information. Make usbsnoopy lo

The HP2300C does not contain a LM983x chip, see my mail on this list

Maybe, maybe not.

Patience is not one of my virtues, so needing a scanner yesterday meant
that I'd be willing to try anything. I even tried the Scanport on
Windose and, yeah, it sort of worked, but not very well. I went ahead
and traded up to the HP thinking that at least I might have a little
better chance of get
The saga continues. I traded in the Scanport 3000 for an HP 2300C -
which isn't supported either, but the 2200C is and I thought that maybe
just a little code tweaking could get the 2300C to work.
What needs to be done to the drivers to get a 2300C to work?
TIA
