A few years ago, someone posted that he was writing
a driver for the hand-held, parallel port scanner
Logitech ScanMan Color2000, when his scanner died,
so he couldn't finish the work which was almost done.
He offered this code to who has the same scanner, but had
no reply on the mailing list, and
